“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” ~Maya Angelou
One of my MySpace friends posted this quote on my profile yesterday and it got me thinking. I have always said if you don’t like the direction your life is going, then change it. You have the power to make things better if you really want to. Not everyone does. There are those who get some kind of payoff for continuing with the “poor me” schtick, and that is their right. Then there are those who want change, but genuinely have no idea how to begin to alter their path. For the latter, the first step is a simple one – ask someone. Ask a bunch of someones if you want to. You may be surprised how many people have been in your shoes and made the change.
However, there are certain things we cannot change. We can’t change the weather, we can’t make the IRS go away, and we can’t change other people. This is where the concept of acceptance comes into play. Your friends, your family, your co-workers may behave in ways that you don’t like or approve of, but it is their right to behave that way as long as they are not harming anyone. You can disapprove or even get angry, but only they have the power to change their own behavior. You can’t control other people, only yourself, so you can choose to walk away from them or to accept them for who they are. Accepting them does not mean that you accept the behavior, only the person, and it is perfectly within your rights to ban that behavior from your home. At that point it is up to them whether to walk away or accept YOU for who you are.
Paranormal Talk™ comes back tomorrow night, Tuesday, February 2nd with Tim Link, animal psychic. Send a photo of your pet along with your questions for Tim to paranormaltalk@yahoo.com, then tune in at 10pm Eastern time to hear what your furry friend has to say!

This could be one hell of a week, so this card is telling us to remain calm and collected at all times. Panicking will serve no one, and always makes things worse. When stuff happens, and it will from time to time, a cool head and logical thinking is what you need to get you through it. You can fall apart for a little while after it’s all over if you must, but in the heat of the moment, think ice.
